The Larlee Creek Hullabaloo mourns the loss of a talented young lady.

It is with the greatest sympathy that the members of the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo extend condolences to the family of Shannon Bernard. Shannon left us far too soon in a tragic accident earlier in June.

Shannon was a contestant at our first 'Tweener contest and endeared herself to the audience and judges with her joyful, fun loving spirit. She impressed everyone with her musical talent, poise and song writing ability. The community has lost a beautiful young lady with much to give. She will be sadly missed by all.

'Tweeners Rock the Bogan

Holy Hullabaloo, last night was 'Tweener-ific!
The first ever 'Tweener Auditions saw 8 talented young performers on stage at the Bogan. The crowd was singing, clapping and cheering all night long and roared their approval when asked if they wanted the performers to do another song. The energy and passion displayed by the performers indicate that they will bring a unique, local flavour to the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo.
Judges will definitely have a difficult time making their selections.

The committee is finalizing the date for the next, and final, 'Tweener audition for '08. Any acts who want to perform should get in touch with Heidi at 273-5272 as soon as possible to register.

Tickets for the Hullabaloo also went on sale last night at the early bird price of $35. Tickets can be purchased by phone by contacting Heidi at , toll-free at 1-877-778-7271 or 273-5272 or you can look for tickets at a outlet near you.

What the heck is a Hullabaloo anyway?

So I hear all this talk about a Hullabaloo coming up in August. What the heck is a Hullabaloo?

Is that some kind of big wind storm like a hurricane and tornado combined?
If it is I am not going to worry since they can't predict the weather for tomorrow let alone two months from now.

Maybe it is reference to the Big Bad Wolf. You know, "I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll Hullabaloo your house down!"
Yea, that doesn't worry me much either, I wasn't much of a fan of those little pigs anyway.

Oh, I know, maybe it is a bunch of repeated gusts of hot air!
That doesn't interest me either, who wants to go listen to a bunch of politicians?

I suppose it could be a greeting between friends, "Hey, how the Hullabaloo are you?"
I think I'll just stick with, 'Howz she goin'?"

All of these seem pretty lame. If only it was an all day music festival with performers from several different genres all coming together at one place, at one time to entertain the audience with powerful, moving music that just makes you want to get up and dance. Now that would be something that would get me going!! Wow.

Dare to dream, dare to Hullabaloo.

What the heck is a Hullabaloo anyway?

How much fun can you have in one day?

Nope, it isn't an attempt to set a Guinness Book of Records mark but the committee for the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo seems bound and determined to make their first event one to remember.

First of all they found a beautiful setting along the mighty St. John River and right next to a campground.

Then, they came up with a name that is just plan fun to say and you can add it to so many statements, like:
  • I Hullabaloo, do you?
  • When in doubt, Hullabaloo.
  • If you can't stand the heat get the Hullabaloo out.
  • If you Hullabaloo, Hullabaloo safe.

See?!?

Next, they arrange to get some of the finest musicians in maritime music today, including some fresh new faces from this area, to perform their brand of music as their own unique acts and together in little hullabaloos where they share styles.

Then, they organize vendors to bring you fun food and items for purchase.

And if that isn't enough, they are going to wrap up the night with a Big Hullabaloo when all the performers get on stage to jam.

How much fun can you have in one day?

Hullabaloo and find out!

A Chance to be a 'Tweener

You know it isn't very often that an opportunity like this comes along and if I was a young musician looking to further my musical career I would be doing everything I could to earn a 'Tweener position.

OK, so maybe it is a bit of a silly name and maybe you aren't quite sure what it means, so let me help. 'Tweener is a part contraction of between (tween) and name for a person who is between two things (er). In this case the two things are Main Stage acts at the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo and the person between them is going to get a chance to perform a short set, probably 10-15 minutes on Main Stage while the crew changes the stage for the next act. Put it together and you have yourself a 'Tweener, the coolest thing to hit music since the synthesizer.

Imagine that. A young performer, unknown except to friends and family, with a chance to step onto a stage with professional musicians to perform in front of hundreds of music fans. Pretty darn sweet.
But WAIT! There is more! The 'Tweener also has full access backstage to meet and talk with the other performers. Fantastic.

I wish I could be a 'Tweener, but I lack the talent. If you have the talent or knows someone who does get them to call Heidi at 273-5272 or 273-3080 as soon as possible. There might still be time to registar.

The Larlee Creek Hullabaloo, bringing music and dreams to the valley.

I Hullabaloo, do you?
