The Ballad of Holly and Lou

This is a little parady about two Hullabalooers who went well prepared for their Hullabaloo experience. If you hum the tune to The Ballad of Jed Clampett (aka The Beverly Hillbillies) you'll get an idea of the rhythm. Follow the lead of Holly and Lou and you, too, can have a great Hullabaloo experience.

The Ballad of Holly and Lou

Now this here’s a story about Holly and Lou
who were so excited about the Hullabaloo.
Holly said to Lou, “We gotta check our list
to be very sure that nothing will be missed.”

Well the first thing we’ll need is a place to sit
so they picked up their lawn chairs and added ‘em to the kit.
There might be bugs so will need some spray
and sun screen to protect us from the UV rays

We’ll need a satchel to carry our new CDs
and a little extra cash for our Hullabaloo Ts.
A big appetite to sample all the food
We’ll have some from each ‘cause to skip ‘em would be rude.

Holly said to Lou, “I think that’s all our stuff,
but I’m gonna tell you something and once is enough.”
“You’re to mind your manners and be thoughtful of others
there will be children there along with their mothers.”

“They don’t need to see you smoking or hear you swear,
so if you feel the need go off some where.”
Just be quiet when you come back to stay
‘cause it wasn’t you we paid to hear play.

Music, that is, guitar picking too.

Now Holly and Lou have a great big smile
for it was the best day in quite a long while.
The Hullabaloo is over and it was really nice
because everyone there had followed their advice.

“Pack what you’ll need to have a great day
and be thoughtful of others in a music fan’s way.”
It doesn’t take much for all to get along
just be kind to one another and listen to the song.

Quiet, that is, when the music’s playin’. Noisy, that is, when you show appreciation.

Be like Holly and Lou and enjoy the Hullabaloo.
